My nephew is obsessed with Elvis, at least this month he is anyway :) So naturally he wanted an Elvis cake for his 6th birthday. We had to make it authentic so the top tier is peanut butter banana cake with maple bacon butter cream, bottom tier is chocolate with white chocolate peanut butter filling.

Tristan's Birthday Cake
Tristan is a little boy on the Sand Gnats with Kaden and Collin. His father is one of the coaches on the team and his mother is a great friend! This cake was for Tristan's 5th birthday however, I used his uniform number on the ball like an autograph rather than his age :) The writing is childlike for the same reason...

Finding time to balance my bliss :)
I haven't posted in more than 6 months... probably because the one follower I have is also one of my best girlfriends and there isn't much I could say that she doesn't already know, but, just in case there are some other people reading that aren't following I'll update...
Everyone knows that I love all things birthday, the parties, the planning and especially the cake! I have agonized over so many birthday cakes, making sure that they are exactly what I want for each and every party... and I pay top dollar for them too... if John knew what I actually spent on a birthday cake he'd have a heart attack.
A few months ago, right around Kaden's 5th birthday, another great friend told me she would teach me how to do it myself... my first thought "Yeah right, I can't do this..." But she prodded me and we gave it a go, together, and as it turned out we were both pretty good at it. We took some classes and attempted to make our business out of it, unfortunately, it's impossible to get licensed in the state of Florida if you don't have a special kitchen just for selling cakes, then she had to go back to work full time so our fun cake baking days came to a (hopefully temporary) end. Nevertheless, I still love decorating cakes! It's something that makes me feel like I'm accomplishing something, as Oprah says, it's my bliss... and best of all, I won't ever have to pay for another cake again! So, if you want a cute birthday, shower or anything cake give me a call...
Here are a few cakes that I have made over the last few months, and a couple that Michelle and I made together.

Puppy Dog Cupcakes
Collin requested Puppy Dog cupcakes for his 3rd birthday, now, I can bake all day long but a decorator I am not... I'd love to be able to do all those fancy smancy cakes and cupcakes but it's just not in me, heck, I can't even write straight on them! That being said, I was very impressed with myself with these little guys! Collin really enjoyed them, as did the rest of us!

What an adventure!
We are still here in Kentucky and this is a beautiful place to be in the Fall. I have learned a lot on this trip and also had a great time with my boys, all 3 of them. Being that the boys and I are alone a lot more than we are at home with my normally full playdate schedule being cut down to zero. We go to the park, we color, play games, watch movies, read, and just hang out with eachother. Kaden is growning up so fast and it seems as though I might miss something huge if I blink for even a second. Collin is doing everything he can to be just like Kaden, even if it means tormenting him a bit, just for fun... he is Collin isn't he?? I'm ready to get home but I have a new found appreciation for being a SAHM, it's even better now than it has ever been, because I feel like the boys and are even closer than we were at home, a bonding experience for sure! I'm thankful that we all came, I know the boys will be better for it.
